History Society Display at the 2022 Jubilee Celebrations

The Parish Council and Little Eaton Community Cares are laying on an event on the 5th June to celebrate the 70 years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth 2nd. The History Society has been asked to contribute a display in the village hall.

There will be four parts to the display:

1.       “Then and Now” photographs of parts of the village

2.       About 40 information sheets on notable buildings around the village. Each gives a brief history of the building and who lived there in 1952.

3.       A set of money that was in circulation at the time.

4.       Some artifacts coronation mugs and spoons, a programme of events for the Little Eaton coronation celebrations, etc.

The information sheets are below. There are still some gaps and there may be mistakes in some of them. Anyone who can provide information to fill the gaps, or correct mistakes should get in with Philip Hunter or Bill Hutchison who will be in the village hall on the afternoon of the display.
